ITZY will release their new mini album “GOLD” on October 15, including the title track “GOLD” and “Imaginary Friend”.

ITZY, who burst onto the music scene with their digital single “IT'z Different” and title track “Daladala” on February 12, 2019, have been captivating fans with their powerful performances and diverse charms, as well as their solid skills, and have been showing their presence as a representative girl group of the fourth generation of K-pop. Recently, ITZY released their mini album “BORN TO BE” on January 8 and their world tour “ITZY 2ND WORLD TOUR” of the same name, where they performed 32 concerts in 28 locations around the world, delivering thrilling stage energy to audiences at home and abroad.

The new album 'GOLD' is based on the theme of “Our World is still different” and contains ITZY's story and music that shines as brightly as the album name. Having established their own color with their challenging yet enterprising energy and unique concept, the group has incorporated the album's message of “We are still different and will continue to be different” into various visual contents. In the trailer, the five members break out of their typical roles to maximize their uniqueness. The teaser images also showcase ITZY's musical colors and identity with bold, original styling and extraordinary momentum, further revealing their individuality.

In particular, through this album, ITZY will be releasing a double title track for the first time since their debut. The title track of the new album and the title track of the same name, “GOLD,” expresses the overwhelming feelings and unfamiliarity of the moment when 'you' meet 'me' and the world of 'me' is completely changed by comparing it to the shiny 'GOLD'. The song is a harmonious crossover between the rock sound of intense electric guitar, groovy drums, and hip-hop sound of 808 bass, and features powerful vocal shouting and charismatic rapping that overwhelms the atmosphere. The music video for “GOLD,” which tells the story of gold seekers who are fascinated by ITZY, who shines even brighter than them, brings the unrealistic elements into the real world with wit and scale.

Another title track, “Imaginary Friend,” is a pop dance song with vintage pop guitars, an acoustic band sound, and sweet vocal harmonies. The song's ambiguous lyrics about an angel, a devil, or yourself who appears in a vision one day and promises to protect and support you, maximizes the lisTENer's imagination and makes it fun to lisTEN to.

The new album includes the two title tracks, “Bad Girls R Us,” “Supernatural,” the fan song “FIVE,” which commemorates the fifth anniversary of their debut, and “VAY (Feat. Changbin of Stray Kids),” and the final version of ‘BORN TO BE,’ ‘UNTOUCHABLE,’ ‘Mr. Vampire,’ ‘Dynamite,’ and ‘Escalator’ from their previous album, complete with all five members' voices. K-pop hitmaker Ryan Jeon, famous American producer Dem Jointz, who has collaborated with various pop stars, and popular lyricists Cho Yoon-kyung and Bang Hye-hyun, among others, contributed to the album's credits, enhancing the album's completeness. In particular, Stray Kids' Changbin wrote and featured on track 6, showing off his special musical chemistry with ITZY.
